Kundan Mondal is an artist born in West Bengal, brought up at Jharkhand and now based in Baroda. Kundan completed his Masters from the M. S. University of Baroda and later pursued a post-graduate course in painting from the Wimbledon college of Arts (University of the Arts London), with a Charles Wallace India Trust Scholarship.The works by Kundan Mondal generate a layered vocabulary to articulate and construct a genre of contemporary history painting/ anti- history paintings, with reference to current political and historical events. He has participated in numerous group shows around the world and his works are part of some of the prestigious collections, both in India and abroad.
