Manaswini Balekkala is a Bangalore-based visual artist working primarily in ink and oil to explore the poetry of domestic life, memory, and the everyday. Her work moves between intimate figuration and lyrical abstraction, using spontaneous mark-making and layered surfaces to hold competing emotions like tenderness, rupture and quiet humour, within a single composition. Rooted in narrative, her paintings treat found objects and personal memory as entry points to wider social histories. Manaswini holds a Master of Visual Arts (Painting) from Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath / Bangalore School of Visual Arts and a BVA in Painting from the College of Fine Arts, CKP. She has also completed coursework in psychology at Arizona State University. Her paintings have been recognized across juried exhibitions and institutional shows . highlights include selection for the Art Society of India annual online exhibition (2022), a Karnataka Lalitkala Academy selection, the Prafulla Dhanukar/Karnataka state award in painting, and the Excellence Award at the College of Fine Arts students’ exhibition
