Julius Das

Born in Odisha in 1994, Julius Das is an interdisciplinary artist who works with photographs, text-based works, moving images, installations and drawings. He engages with diverse subjects like post-war, art historical events, sexuality, citizenship and mass culture, with multi-layered, conceptual frameworks through artistic and research based projects.

Julius’ practice is an outcome of the engagements of everyday life and the thought of how the unexpected and precarious present is connected to various aftermaths of the Chaos. He has been using action as an artistic and conceptual strategy in his artistic practice wherein the production and the condition of the production of the art works are extremely crucial.

Julius currently lives and works from Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
