Recipient of Senior fellowship award for Outstanding Performance in the field of Art from Ministry of Art & Culture, Delhi in 2023, Prasanta Mukherjee was born in 1959 at Jamshedpur, India. He was teaching at the Chicago art school for several years. He is a Fulbright scholar who has exhibited his works in prestigious locations around the world. The miniature objects in his works take one down the memory lane and intend to build an emotional connection with the physicality of these objects from the past. These mundane objects, which shape our memories and identities, become surreal in our perception of the past.
