Sujith SN, an artist in his mid-forties, had already made a space for himself in the world of national and global art through his captivating watercolour landscapes. Sujith's paintings showcase a unique artistic vision, characterised by dramatic landscapes, sometimes apocalyptic, that evoke a sense of awe and mystery. His canvases also feature enigmatic architecture, often appearing ancient or otherworldly, adding to the intrigue.
In order to capture the essence of Sujith’s body of art, Director Premjish turned his camera to the home village of the artist, Pallassana in the Palakkad district of Kerala. The mysterious village, situated on the border between Tamil Nadu and Kerala, with huge rock structures, waterbodies, farm fields, meadows and temples, metamorphosed into a large canvas that evoked the creative instinct of the artist. Premjish and the film crew re- created some of Sujith’s paintings using nature and its elements. The breathtaking visual imagery shot at Pallassana sets the tonality of the movie. The movie unfolds the painting process of Sujith, well capturing his studio practices. An eloquent speaker, Sujith shares his life journey as an artist and his thought process on critical elements that define an artist.
