Works of Payal Rajput (b.1997, Uttar Pradesh, India) deal with the idea of home and memories, with an intention to know the tendency of architecture to bring embedded memories/emotions to the surface. There has been constant emphasis on creating an emotional space by bringing in architectural elements which are ages old, confronting a travel through space and time. By drawing upon the dilapidated and abandoned architecture, the temporal state of the house is attained which is now nearly left to ruin. Focusing on the tactility, interiority and exteriority of the spaces, focused elements, peripheral visions and a quality of the architecture which lends a metaphysical experience, the work takes shape consisting of exploration in various mediums which are two-dimensional, sculptural and on-site development.
