Born in 1990 in a Kerala village, Suneesh is currently focusing on a native occupation of carpentry which has a deep rooted history in Kerala as well as in his own family. He paints on discarded, traditional, carpentry tools which reminds us of the toil that the workers, including his father, put into their craft. Oil on wood panels is one of the most popular mediums in European painting tradition. Suneesh is trying to give this whole process a new twist by painting wooden objects. Through this process, he is trying to give a new voice to voiceless people.
