Sriparna Dutta, born in 1992 in Kolkata, West Bengal, is a contemporary artist who divides her time between New Delhi and Kolkata. She holds a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Painting from the University of Hyderabad, following a Bachelor of Fine Arts
Sriparna Dutta, born in 1992 in Kolkata, West Bengal, is a contemporary artist who divides her time between New Delhi and Kolkata. She holds a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Painting from the University of Hyderabad, following a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from the Government College of Art and Craft, Kolkata. Sriparna’s work primarily focuses on female narratives, often using paper, textiles, and soft-stitched sculptural forms to explore themes of womanism, landscapes, and societal perspectives.
Her artistic journey is distinguished by numerous accolades, including prestigious fellowships such as the Space118 Fine Arts Grant. She has also received awards like the Birla Award 2024, the JK Paper Award from the Anant Art Foundation, the MAP Indian Artist Relief Fund Scholarship, and the "FIRST TAKE" Award from Abir India. Sriparna was also honored with a National Scholarship from the Ministry of Culture, India.
Her work has been showcased at key exhibitions, including the India Art Fair 2025 with Birla Academy of Art and Culture, "Fresh Produce" at Method Art Gallery, and "Origin of Story" at Kalakriti Art Gallery. Notable shows include "Proposition in Paper" at Anant Art Gallery and the CIMA Award Show.
