Hailing from the picturesque landscapes of Idukki in Kerala, Yazir, now settled in Kochi, is an accomplished artist with degrees in Fine Arts from RLV College of Music and Fine Arts, Thripunithura. Adding depth to his artistic journey, Yazir holds a PG diploma in Archaeology from the Centre of Heritage Studies. Embracing diverse roles in the media industry during his academic years in Cochin, he discovered the transformative potential of archaeology in unlocking new artistic dimensions. Venturing to northern India, Yazir seamlessly merged art, archaeology and media studies, shaping a distinctive artistic identity. Settled back in Cochin, he continues his creative practice with a commitment to constant growth and exploration. He is the recipient of the Kerala Lalithakala Akademi State award and Rizq Art Initiative Fellowship in Abu Dhabi in 2023.
