Tufan Pramanik, born in the village of Gangrai near Kolkata, West Bengal, India, completed his primary education in a rural school and attended Julia Andharmanik High School for higher studies. Tufan pursued his passion for art, graduating with a degree in Bangla Honors from Baruipur College in 2015, followed by BFA & MFA degrees in Painting from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata, in 2019 and 2021, respectively.
Tufan has received numerous awards and scholarships and has participated in exhibitions across India. His accolades include the Jogen Chowdhury Centre for Arts scholarships (Kolkata), the 100 Artist Grant Award (Switzerland), the Charukala Award, the Emami Art Grant Award, and the Rabindra Bharati University Student's Annual Exhibition Award. He has exhibited his work in various prestigious shows such as the "Art Family" Online Solo Exhibition, Birla Academy of Art & Culture Annual Exhibition, "Abir India" Annual Exhibition, CIMA Award Show (2022), and "The India Story" Exhibition. Recently, Tufan has been researching the changes in the landscape around Kolkata.
