Veda Thozhur Kolleri is interested in processes of decay, sedimentation, accretion, accumulation, growth and the disappearance of apparent signs of life in the organic world. She often uses drawing, video, light, photography, writing and material remains to create immersive spaces that simultaneously embrace and resist the natural progression of decay. The layering of translucent light and shadows over opaque surfaces is a method she uses to express the contradictions in possibility and eventuality. Her work is a rehearsal of loss that manifests as a practice of preserving residues and identifying signs of life in decaying material.
