Meghna is a visual artist from Bombay. Her art reflects natural elements and creatures adapting to diverse everchanging landscapes. Natural light affecting the behaviour and growth of all beings are of interest to her. The fragility of our existence, travesty and the seamless adaptation and survival of sentient beings to our ecology is a sensation she attempts to reflect through her practice. Surrealistic elements and anthropomorphism are intrinsic in the choice of elements seen in her painted drawings. The record of past history and mythology narrate many cyclical occurrences to absorb and it further dictates the imagined dystopic landscapes Meghna renders. She incorporates mythical creatures & natural elements into celestial manifestations. The witnesses to our changing landscapes are natural formations and creatures that have survived a number of epochs. The importance of their existence for the balance in our environment and co-existence is juxta positioned with manmade structures both observing each other. Mythology, fables and folklore woven through our ancestry collate -past, present and future narrative in Meghnas art explorations.
