Born in 1995 in Kerala, Celin Jacob completed her BFA in Sculpture at R.L.V. College of Fine Arts, Tripunithura and is currently pursuing MFA in Sculpture at Government College of Fine Arts, Thiruvananthapuram. Celin believes that in a human-centred environment, small creatures in the ecosystem are disturbed and destroyed and human cruelty towards individual creatures increases, resulting in their isolation and destruction. Her recent works contemplate on the observation of nature and its multitudes of ecosystems. Small creatures that are regularly seen at home, such as ants, fish, lizards, moths, cockroaches, etc. are taken as a part of her works. In the early days, only the creatures that she felt related to her life were made as part of her works. Later she began to observe more and more of such beings, consciously and unconsciously and made them part of the works.
